What to Expect
When Staying at Ffosygrafel Isaf
We are a Greener Camping Club Campsite
In order to comply with countryside planning policy, we operate as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite. The Club was established by people with a passion for sustainable, eco-friendly camping holidays. When you book your holiday with us, you will be enrolled as a member of the Club. Membership costs just £12 for the camping season and gives you access to some of the greenest campsites in the UK. It also includes participation in the Club's 'Trees for Life' scheme, whereby a tree is planted for every member we enrol.
Camping Pitches
There are 8 level circular pitches on our site, each measuring 12-15m in diameter, making plenty of room for 1-2 tents.
Each pitch is surrounded by a combination of native saplings and shrubs, planted in 2022/23 with many donated by the Woodland Trust. For those interested, the species are: hazel; silver and downy birch; rowan; dogwood; dog rose; oak; crab apple and alder.
When you arrive
On arrival, we ask you to park your car in the car park and use one of the trolleys / wheel-barrows provided to ferry your camping equipment and whatever else you need to your camping pitch (this will be between 50m and 80m away depending on where you choose to camp). This makes for a safer, more tranquil camping experience for all and ensures the best level of protection for our wildflowers and newly planted trees.
During your stay
- Unfortunately, we can't allow fires on the camping pitches, but non-disposable barbeques are welcomed and there is a communal fire pit (with hand-made seating!).
- The roundhouse houses a basic camp kitchen (washing-up area with hot water) and an undercover communal area with charging points for phones and other electronic devices.
- There's no wi-fi and limited phone reception on site, but we do get full 4G signal in an area in the field above the campsite - look for the 'Phone Bench' sign!

Campervan Pitches
We have 3 level pitches on hard standing, surrounded by sycamore trees.
Please note: access is limited, and won't support caravans or large motor-homes. If you have a smaller-sized motor home, please get in touch with us to discuss access.
When you arrive
If you've booked a space for a campervan, there will be signs guiding you to the right area as you approach.
During your stay
- There is no electric hookup provided, but the amenities available on the campsite are also freely available to our campervan pitches. These include:
- compost toilets
- showers
- communal firepit
- roundhouse kitchen area
- At present, we don't have facilities for disposal of sewage from campervans.
- There's no wi-fi and limited phone reception on site, but we do get full 4G signal in an area in the field above the campsite.

The price of a pitch per campervan per night is £28 for up to 2 people, then for each extra person up to a total of 5 people the following charges apply:

Premium Campervan Pitch
Want something a little different? Why not treat yourselves to a stay at our premium spot for campervans. Nestled in our sheltered former quarry, surrounded by trees and wildlife (look out for the tawny owl in the willows!), this is a tranquil spot where you can enjoy the luxury of your own campervan and the extra facilities we have provided to enhance your stay. For a little extra, you can rent our fully furnished camper.
This pitch has its own bespoke decking area with comfortable wooden chairs, (made from reclaimed wood), a table, and a fire bowl – we have logs for sale at the farmhouse or you can bring your own of course. There are also some twinkly solar lights which come on automatically at dusk to give you that holiday ambience.
Simply pull up alongside the decking, open your side door, and relax.
This pitch comes with its own private compost toilet, and you have full use of the rest of the facilities on the campsite including the solar shower block and roundhouse where you can wash dishes or just relax and enjoy the view.
When you arrive, please drive to the end of the campsite car park and continue for approximately 50m along the track until you get to the quarry. If your side door is on the left pull up close to the right-hand side of the decking and you will easily be able to step in and out of your van. If you are booking to stay in our campervan you can also park your car in the quarry.

Bring a second camper!
Travelling with friends? There is room on this pitch for more than one campervan, so why not bring friends along too! (cost - extra £38 per night for two). As above, if you want to do this please get in touch with us directly.
Rent our fully furnished campervan!
For a completely luxurious camping experience for two, why not rent our beautiful campervan in the quarry for your stay? It comes with a 5ft wide bed, 2 ring gas cooker and sink, everything you need for preparing and eating meals, a powered USB socket, 20L of water (and more if needed) and of course a beautifully crafted interior. We will also provide bedding and towels for you. There is no shower in the van, but you are free to use the campsite showers a short walk away. As mentioned above, you have your own private space with decking, table and chairs, firebowl and compost toilet, and you can park your car nearby.
